ASEAN plans comprehensive cooperation programme with Russia

ASEAN Member States are seeking to create a comprehensive programme for cooperation with Russia, covering all aspects of relations, ASEAN Secretary-General Le Luong Minh said addressing the ASEAN — Russia Business Forum in Sochi.

According to Le Luong Minh, the partnership between ASEAN Member States and Russia has achieved considerable results in the past few years. "We continue to develop close cooperation with Russia given the potential of the economies in our region," he emphasised.

ASEAN — Russia relations, he added, have entered a new phase of development, particularly in foreign trade and tourism, as well as strengthening food and energy security. "The plan for the upcoming years includes all these areas. As for the time frames for this roadmap, it comprises a period of 3-5 years," Le Luong Minh said.
